Trio X pays homage to the history, inspiration and promise of Harlem, with the SUGAR HILL SUITE. To quote Loren Schoenberg, Executive Director of the Jazz Museum of Harlem, "jazz lives and breathes in Harlem today, not just in the gloried past of yesterday." Along with the inspiration of the giants upon whose shoulders we stand, we remember that Great Day, one Saturday in August, 1958, and the fact that Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington couldn't make the photo shoot. We remember the Apollo Theater, the Savoy Ballroom, the Cotton Club, Small's Paradise, and look forward to the promise of a new artistic renaissance.
